Quotation (verbatim): The records “ended up in the custody of Capital Law after being transferred to various companies who purchased the leaseholds”; “the leaseholds were later taken over by the British Petroleum Pensions Trust”. D696/2 (1944) “details leaseholds that were mortgaged in 1938 to Mountjoy Ltd and surrendered in 1944 to Western Ground Rents Ltd”. D696/3: coloured OS third-edition plans of land held by WGR and Mountjoy (no key).

Fits with: Points to a successor-company records trail (Capital Law) for WGR / BP Pension Trust papers, and to a plan book of WGR and Mountjoy land.

Cuts against: Described as urban leaseholds; whether Llandough appears in these volumes is not established.

Notes: Free inspection at Glamorgan Archives; Sion’s decision.
