What is the central question about the land?
Whether Parcel A, the house plot, ever passed into the Western Ground Rents → BP title chain, notwithstanding BP’s possession and the 1982–83 registration (title test; first registration).
What is the working theory?
The working theory is that the farm was two parcels and that Parcel A never passed into BP’s title. It is a working theory under documentary testing, not a finding (Where things stand).
Did the family have possession of the farmhouse?
Yes, until BP obtained possession on 29 November 1988, despite the 1955 and 1962 orders and the 1974 licence letters (1988 possession). What that possession meant in law is covered under Legal & Ownership.
What happened to the farmhouse in 1988?
