Identity: This page controls the nomenclature used for the full Parcel A, the 1877 house/quarrying parcel in the Wiki’s two-parcel reconstruction. It is not merely the farmhouse, garden or occupied house group.
Other documented wordings
Parcel A nomenclature#
Parcel A — the primary analytical label for the full 1877 house/quarrying estate: farmhouse/buildings; barn, stable and yard west of the house; garden; forest north of the house; and ground south-east of the house/garden later registered as VG41.
house parcel — shorthand for the full house/quarrying parcel, including its forest and green ground; it does not mean only the house/buildings footprint.
house-side parcel — descriptive variant distinguishing the full Parcel-A estate from Parcel B, the separate eastern agricultural fields.
farmhouse / buildings parcel — only the occupied building group within Parcel A, not an adequate label for the full Parcel-A extent.
Identity boundary#
Parcel A is not the same thing as the farmhouse or the “house and garden” area Mary remained able to occupy. The building and garden group sat within the full Parcel-A estate. On the family’s established title case, the 1877 arrangement took effect in 1928 and Parcel A included the forest north of the house and the south-east green ground as well. Parcel B remained the separate eastern agricultural parcel. Later “whole farm” wording blurred these distinct interests; it did not itself merge them into one title.
Colour key#
Parcel A uses green shades, with each nomenclature variant assigned a different shade within that family.

Cross-links across the naming system: Use Great House Farm — Name & Location Variations to compare the distinct building, place and parcel labels across the site. For the separate historical Cedwyn / Cydfin place-name research branch, consult GHF-E173 — complete reference index. Similar names are research leads and do not, by themselves, prove identical boundaries, ownership or title.
Cedwyn Estate theory cross-reference: The Parcel A nomenclature is a working identification scheme within the Cedwyn Estate hypothesis. It must not be mistaken for a cadastral boundary: the family’s claimed house, buildings, garden, forest and south-east ground must be identified in primary deeds and plans before any part can be treated as proven ancestral property.
